Dr. Arnab Pramanik,  Ph.D.
Scientific Staff, JBNSTS

 

Biography: Dr. Arnab Pramanik obtained his B.Sc and M.Sc degree in Microbiology from Vidyasagar University. He was awarded with the silver medal for securing second position in the Master's degree examination in Microbiology. He received PhD degree in Science (Microbiology) from Jadavpur University. Dr. Pramanik has more than three year's postdoctoral research experience from University of Calcutta, Department of Biochemistry in the area of Microbial Ecology. During postdoctoral work, he attained deeper knowledge in Next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology and related bioinformatics analysis. His current research interest includes Metagenomics, Microbial ecology, Plant microbe interaction, Extremophiles, Marine cyanobacteria, Bioremediation, Microbial physiology and adaptation to environmental stress and Bacterial taxonomy. He has published eighteen international peer-reviewed journals along with four book chapters. He is also a reviewer of many International peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Pramanik is currently working as a Scientific Staff of JBNSTS. Presently, he is engaged to set up a modern biotechnology laboratory to facilitate students for better understanding of biotechnological tools and techniques.
