The JBNSTS Identification Program  :

               SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM / SENIOR BIGYANI KANYA MEDHA BRITTI :

The Core Program (Senior Scholarship Program / Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti) for undergraduate students is as old as the institution itself.  Since the first batch of scholars selected in 1960, more than 53 batches of scholars of Basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, have been identified and nurtured throughout their formative academic years. This program is being supported by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal form its inception. The accumulated expertise and experience acquired through these years have given the institution a reputation that reaches far beyond the boundaries of West Bengal. Several Central Government and private funding agencies have contributed towards extending the activities of this institute.

Based on the performance in multi-phased tests held every year, scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students from West Bengal (senior scholars). All scholarships are raised by JBNSTS through donations by industries, educational institutions, different departments of State Government and well wishers of  JBNSTS.

              JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM :

A new initiative from JBNSTS to identify, support and nurture science talent in higher secondary level students. JBNSTS provides an ideal platform for the talented students to achieve their scientific goals and to flourish their innovative mind and realized that it will be more effective if we catch the students when they are very young. This program supported by Govt. of West Bengal.

The JBNSTS Motivation Program (Under WBDS Scheme)

Since 2000, JBNSTS has been working in the challenging area of motivating bright students in the age group of 12-14 years from the district schools of West Bengal towards the learning of science using innovative methods.  This project is known as the West Bengal District Scheme Project and sponsored by the Dept. of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal . 

The JBNSTS Vidyasagar State Science Olympiad

JBNSTS is a prodigal platform for qualitative dissemination of knowledge and information of science in the academic ecosystem of the nation. Identifying talented students mentoring them to face further challenges in making career in science is the vision of JBNSTS. The Vidyasagar State Science Olympiad is a rigorous academic and scholastic aptitude competition in West Bengal that includes the school going pupils up to the level of each block. The inaugural edition of Vidyasagar State Science Olympiad conducted by JBNSTS under the auspices of School Education Department, Government of West Bengal was held in the preceding year to celebrate 200th birth centenary year of Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar.

The JBNSTS Teacher's Training Program

An important addition to the institution's list of projects is one for the improvement of middle school science teaching in the districts of West Bengal. This project has been successfully implemented in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of West Bengal.

The JBNSTS-DST INSPIRE Program (SHE)

JBNSTS scholars who are pursuing basic sciences at the undergraduate level, automatically qualify for the Rs 80,000 per annum scholarship given by the DST under the INSPIRE- SHE scheme.

The JBNSTS-DST SEATS Program 

JBNSTS has been identified as one of the main nodal centers to conduct science camps for science students of Class XI of West Bengal who have secured a minimum of 88% marks at WBBSE, 95% marks at the ICSE and  CGPA-A1 at CBSE in their Class X examinations.
